I am a mathematician working in the area of geometric mechanics, robotics, and fluid dynamics. My current research interests include:
Unsteady hydrodynamics of fishlike swimming using boundary-element methods
Reduced-order modeling via proper orthogonal decomposition (POD), dynamic mode decomposition (DMD), and related techniques.
Koopmanism
Feedback control in robotics and fluid dynamics
Geometric methods in mechanics; for example, purposeful breaking of symmetries to generate and control locomotion
