I am a mathematician working in the area of geometric mechanics, robotics, and fluid dynamics. My current research interests include:
Unsteady hydrodynamics of fishlike swimming using boundary-element methods
CFD for viscous incompressible flows; in particular, immersed-boundary methods
Reduced-order modeling via proper orthogonal decomposition (POD), dynamic mode decomposition (DMD), and related techniques
Dynamical systems and applied Koopmanism
Feedback control of robotic and fluid-dynamic systems
Geometric methods in mechanics: Lie group symmetries, momentum maps, reduction, bundles and connections, holonomy and geometric phases
